Interim Musical Director
Until the end of 2025, we were ably led by Martin Dear. Martin has now retired from the choir. We are very fortunate to have Mary helping us on an interim basis. She leads with a passion for rich, male vocal harmonies and inclusive singing.

Charles guides our voices to blend beautifully, focusing on enjoyment and sound quality. He is also our choir secretary.

From Village Voices to Harmonious Achievements
Learn how Blockley Blokes Choir brings men together, enriching community spirit through diverse music and joyful singing.
After weekly rehearsals of 90 minutes, often some of the “Blokes” retire on foot to the Great Western Arms, Blockley to “re-hydrate” and chat about music or anything else that comes to mind. Sometimes there may even be some further singing.
Rehearsals follow roughly three terms with a long break during the summer.
Sustaining Passion Through Community Singing
The choir typically performs two to three concerts during the year, including some carol concerts in December. These may be joint concerts with other choirs and take place in venues in the North Cotswolds, such as Willersey, Shipston, Blockley and Bourton-on-the-Hill (areas from which some of our members are drawn).

In addition to weekly meetings, the choir has an annual informal “social” with any partners invited too. Members and partners enjoy a chance to get together – and many of the partners are in the Blockley Ladies Choir too!
